Chanel Handbags Spring 2012

Chanel-handbags-Spring-2012d

The Chanel handbag Spring 2012 collection does not disappoint. It’s divided in three distinct categories; clutches and small bags that have a beach/seashell theme, some of which are shaped like a seashells, others with shell inspired embellishments, futuristic, geometric shaped clutches, and classic quilted bags carried and shaped like parcels. While the collection is somewhat incongruous in theme, the bags are fantastic and utterly chic.

Chanel handbags are Available here.

Chanel Handbags Spring 2011

Well at least Karl got the handbags right. The shoes from the spring 2011 collection were downright hideous, but the bags and clothing are nothing short of fabulous, and to give credit where it’s due, Chanel is known for their bags and clothing more than the shoes. Lagerfeld’s inspiration was Last Year at Marienbad, that hallucinatory avant-garde movie from the early sixties, and it translated into distressed, ragged edges, and a lattice of perforations. Some of the bags had this characteristic, while others were classic designs with an odd twist, for example, the above bag is the classic flap in super soft leather held inside a contrasting rigid frame with the result something like a coin purse/clutch.

The two bags below are also the classic flap, but instead of straps, the bag has a rolled leather, clutch handle.

This clutch was one of my favorites, it’s designed to look like a book.

Chanel Handbags Fall 2010 Now Available

Chanel-handbag7

I showed you these Chanel handbags a few months ago when they went down the runway at the Fall 2010 show, and I wasn’t that crazy about then then and I’m not now either. The furry bags aren’t my speed, but the simple white fold over flap bags are lovely, however I can’t imagine it would stay sparkling white for very long. The above tote is nice, but doesn’t inspire me enough to part with the 3K that it will cost. I will probably not make a trip to the Chanel boutique this season. Sorry Karl.

Chanel Handbags Fall 2010

Chanel
Calfskin handbag.

The Chanel handbags for the upcoming Fall 2010 are a mixed bag of designs, and while I usually go with the classic flap, I liked most of the bags from this collection. It looks like Karl took a note from Marc Jacobs with this Chanel version of bag on a bag, a very popular design Marc did over a year ago. I love the little bits of color on the third bag down, it has a great handmade look. All of the bags from this collection are wearable, unlike spring 2010 where some of the bags/baskets are totally unrealistic for practical use.

Chanel Handbags Fall 2010

Chanel-Handbags-Fall-2010

The Chanel handbags for Fall 2010 are hit and miss. Karl Lagerfeld said the theme for the collection was “three bears on an ice flow”, and from that are some pretty ice-y looking bags and some furry monstrosities. I’ll start with the ones I liked, like the quilted flap bag above. Unlike the classic flap bag, this one is actually a satchel that zips open at the top, and I really like how it looks like the bag was barely dipped in black paint. The next four are pretty much classic Chanel, always good to me.

Here are the three little bags that look like ice sculptures. Love them.

Love this bag. It’s a classic shoulder bag but with pieces of ‘ice’ on the front and a dangling ice charm on the chain strap.

I am on the fence about these bags. Not a fan of fur bags, but they aren’t hideous.

These fabulous Chanel handbags were made for the Paris-Shanghai collection in honor of the Chinese New Year. It's pretty well known that Asians account for the majority of sales in luxury goods, so it's fitting they have bags made in honor of the largest Asian country's new year. These bags are in the classic flap style, but covered in shiny sequins. LOVE them. The Paris-Shanghai collection is coming soon to a CHANEL boutique near you!
