The Hermes Spring 2009 Handbag collection was displayed in Paris yesterday. The runway shows theme was the wild west, and it was displayed in the clothes, handbags and shoes. We saw slim crocodile envelope clutches, handheld canvas-and-leather suitcases, and (whoa, ladies!) even a fringed Birkin. 

I have to admit, I thought (and hoped) we were done with the fringe, but Hermes designer Jean Paul Gaultier made it bearable. While he got a little crazy with the fringed Birkin, he stayed true to the classic labels image with the crocodile and snakeskin Birkins. Overall, the collection was classy and beautiful, and will be highly anticipated.
