Louis Vuitton Handbags Fall 2010

Louis-Vuitton-Handbags-Fall-2010

I really like the Louis Vuitton handbags for Fall 2010. Marc Jacobs theme for this collection was 50’s era ladylike fashion. This season, there were mostly reinterpretations of the classic Speedy, but much better. That functional shape originally designed in the 1930's, came flocked and sequined, smothered in guipure lace over satin, or woven in metallic thread and done up in fox.

The bags were mostly structured satchels, conservative in design and color. There were no extra tassels or fringe this season, just clean, simple cuts that made for classic and sophisticated bags. The only one's I didn’t like were the fur covered bags.

Louis Vuitton Cosmic Blossom Collection

Louis-Vuitton-Cosmic-Blossom-Collection

Louis Vuitton has a new collection for spring, the Cosmic Blossom collection, which will include leather goods, ready-to-wear and accessories. It is a collaboration between Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton and features Murakami's superflat artwork printed on Louis Vuitton pieces.

Cosmic Blossom comes in three colors (Rose, Blue, and Violet). For leather goods, Louis Vuitton has developed a technique that gives the pieces a glossy effect and vibrant color. The bags are emblazoned with a heritage Louis Vuitton signature similar to the one printed in Neverfull bags.

Handbags in this collection includes a pochette measuring priced at $550 and a tote in two sizes, a PM and GM, $1240 and $1480.
The collection will be available at Louis Vuitton stores on April 15th 2010.

Louis Vuitton Mini Noe Rococo Handbag

I wasn't a fan of this Louis Vuitton handbag when it was debuted and I'm still not, however I must admit the detail is incredible. Check out the sequins...they have impressions of the LV Monogram & Flowers. This bag comes from the Cruise 2010 collection and is available at select Louis Vuitton boutiques.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Underground Handbag

Louis-Vuitton-Monogram-Underground-Handbag

The latest Louis Vuitton handbags are somewhat unusual to say the least. While a few designs from the Spring and Summer 2010 collection are fabulous, some are hideous. This bag falls somewhere in the middle for me. While the luxurious cream and lime colored leather are beautiful, and the tassel and bead details are fabulous, the shape of the bag is totally out of proportion and inconvenient. I'm sure this was done on purpose, unconventional chic perhaps? It's so deep there is no way you could carry small items, like, oh ANY daily necessities - phone, wallet, ipod, keys - without it being a total pain in the butt trying to retrieve them. So that leaves its' use as an overnight bag or a gym bag, which is perfectly fabulous in my opinion, however at 4K, that's going to be a tough sell.

Louis Vuitton Raindrop Besace shoulder bag

Louis-Vuitton-Raindrop-Besace-shoulder-bag

I really was going to lay off the Louis Vuitton bags for awhile, but then I came across this. Are you freaking kidding me?! A LV trash bag. This is why I think Marc Jacobs is off his rocker. He thinks the consumer will literally buy junk if it has a Louis Vuitton logo. This 'bag' is named the Raindrop Besace because it's made from coated canvas (read: raincoat material), and thus waterproof. It has a removable shoulder strap in case you want to actually carry it like a trash bag. It's being described as "utilitarian" by the loonies that love anything and everything LV. (No offence loonies, I like LV too, but lets call a spade a spade). This designer trash bag can be yours for $1,960.
