I saw this Marc Jacobs handbag in Neimans last weekend and I found myself wondering who on earth would possibly buy this? While the color is very pretty, the bag itself isn't much bigger than a clutch and the straps (2) are VERY long. The bag hung to almost below my booty. The enamel studs on the front contain purple glitter, but the studs look plastic and foggy. It's not a clear, sparkly adornment at all. Remember jelly shoes from the early 80's, and the ones that were glitter...that's what the studs on this bag look like. Possibly this is the look MJ was going for, 80's chic, but it's not for me. This cute little clutch is Marc Jacobs Big Heart zip clutch, and while I like the whimsical design, I wonder if those hearts are going to fall off. I don't see any stitching, so I'm guessing the attachments aren't that strong. This clutch is big enough so you can actually carry some things in it, as opposed to the tiny ones that only hold a credit card. The heart appliqués of varying leathers decorate the front, as well as the back. The bright color and unique design of this clutch is a sure to get attention, and add a little style to an outfit. $795

 

Just in time for fall, Marc Jacobs orange Stam handbag is available. I love the Stam bag, but this one is really great because of the resin chain link shoulder strap. I need a shoulder strap so my hands are free. This Stam bag is embossed snakeskin on orange leather. This handbag is a great everyday, year rounder. It's roomy enough for all your essentials but not a huge tote, and orange is seen on clothes and handbags in warm and cold weather. The Stam is a classic, fabulous handbag. I just came across more pictures of the Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 collection and had to post these handbags, I love them. He uses so many different materials, colors and textures in each bag.  This collection is very different from his Stam bags. These have a more funky, irreverent vibe where the Stam bag is structured and beautiful.

I think these bags are going to be a huge hit when they get to the streets. I can't wait for their arrival.

The frog was a theme which ran through the Marc Jacobs spring mainline collection and has since become a micro-trend for the season. This cute Iris Sequined handbag is the perfect exhibition of his quirky design talent and is a real investment for lovers of the brand. This is not a fall bag, but it's still on sale at Net a Porter, and I think it's a beautiful, year round evening bag. The hot pink color is being carried over into fall by many designers in shoes, handbags, and clothes, so get it if you love it...like me!

Marc Jacobs has shown his handbag collection for Spring 2009. These handbags have a totally different feel from the Stam handbag we so love. Multi-layering of various skins and prints and bold tassels make this collection much different from Fall 2008.

 

This red and green quilted bag is a bit too Christmas-y for Spring but hopefully it will come in 10 different color ways.

 

This handbag is my favorite from his collection. I love the colors, the quilted pattern, the oversized yellow stitching, the two simple tassels, and last but certainly not least, the strap! FABULOUS!

Ladies, have you ever asked your boyfriend or husband for a handbag as a gift for your birthday or Christmas? Did you get what you wanted? I ask for a handbag on every occasion, including anniversary and I only sometimes get one. But I have to take him to the store and point out EXACTLY the bag I want, because I don't want a gift getting occasion wasted on a bag I can't use. I have compiled a list of handbags that would be an excellent gift for you, so direct your significant others here if you want a fabulous gift.

 

Guys, if your lady is a businesswoman, this bag is perfect. It will look beautiful with a suit and it's just plain fabulous. The label is discreet, but still evident. Do you really want to impress her? I haven't met a woman who does not lust for this purse. It's beautiful and feminine, like her, right? It's a Marc Jacobs Ostrich Stam (after one of the current "super models", Jessica Stam) . $5,500.

If you decide to venture into a department store to get her handbag, stick to the big name labels like Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Versace, Christian Dior, Prada, Valentino.

I know some of these prices are a little high, but she's worth it. I could have suggested the Hermes Birkin. 

I absolutely love this handbag. It's the Marc Jacobs Ostrich Stam. Not only do I love the Stam design, remniscient of the coin purse, but I love the color and the ostrich. Marc Jacobs has had a few misses this season, but this totally makes up for it.

The silver tone link chain strap is detachable.

I can't decide which color I like more, they are both sooooo pretty. The only thing Not fabulous about this handbag is the price, $5,500.  If you can drop the cash for this piece of arm candy, you can do so at Net-A-Porter.

What the hell.... And it's a clutch.
