Ferragamo handbags are finally getting the attention it craves in magazine editorials but I'm still not 100% sold.  Most of the bag designs are fairly simple and boring, as well as quite costly.  The Sofia tote is okay, with the signature hardware but it is nothing special.  I do like the zippered back compartment, which it needs because this flap "Kelly bag" style is quite inconvenient.  If you have ever carried this type of bag and opened it while standing you know that half of the contents in your bag come spilling out. I never use my Kelly unless the bag is purely ornamental. But I do like the brand's conservative style, like Tod's, and will continue to keep my eyes on the collections. Do you think these bags are worth this kind of dough? $2,115 and $1,163 respectively. I love this bag. The Salvatore Ferragamo Apollonia Bag radiates subtle and simplistic perfection that just has me infatuated. This bags' shape is beautiful.  It's made with black and white hardwick, which is a type of python that weighs in at over 200 lbs. (Yuck! Better on my bag than under my feet.) The skin looks different than regular python; the pattern is more uniform. And who was caught wearing this bag? None other than refined simplicity herself, Reese Witherspoon. Love her! The bag comes from the Spring/Summer 2008 collection and is available in Ferragamo boutiques for about $3,350. You can also buy Ferragamo bags through Saks.
