That's A Fabulous Handbag

The handbags at the Tory Burch Spring/Summer 2010 show were such a big hit with editors that they were making orders minutes after the presentation began. I can see why, this collection is both super chic, and conservative or as one blogger put it both "the girl next door and the hipper-than-thou". Reasonable price points partly explain Burch's outstanding success, yes. But, reaching beyond that, her appeal is also in classic, timeless designs.

The fall '09 collection worried me, it seemed Tory was veering into asexual, Prada-ish influence, but, thankfully, she's back with her pretty, sophisticated designs. This is an overall great collection with something for everyone.

This Thursday, 9/10 is Fashion's Night Out in New York, and designers think of little gimmicks to attract customers and people to attend their event. This exclusive Tory Burch camo tote will be given to customers who spend any amount on September 10th at Tory Burch’s meat packing or Nolita stores. Cute. Does this tote make you want to check out the event and spend?

This YSL tote will be given out on the streets of New York on Saturday 9/12 during Fashion Week. The cotton tote designed by Creative Director Stefano Pilati features Christy Turlington in the Yves Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 2009-10 collection upside down, and on the flip side is a list of what she wore. Interesting. I like this one alot... the perfect excuse to get to NY for Fashion Week.

Tory Burch is flying to the top tiers of the fashion world and this bag is evidence of why. This is her 'Graduate' Crinkle Leather Doctor's Bag and I think it has such a classy and sophisticated look. She uses fantastic, top quality materials, like the lizard trim and subtly crinkled leather on this handbag. The vintage inspired frame doctors bag is always a solidly chic accessory. I also love that Tory Burch isn't too terribly expensive, although this is one of her higher ticket items. This handbag also comes in solid brown patent leather. Available at NORDSTROM, $635

As you may know, Tory Burch is fast becoming one of my favorite handbag designers. Her handbags are well made with top rate materials and they have a classic, stylish look. Not to mention, quite reasonably priced. I see her as the next Coach. These two bags are her Burch Degrade Tote and I love the shiny patent leather as well as the color fades. For me, this is a great everyday bag, easy to get in and get things out. I usually have my hands full, so zippers and flaps get in the way. This would also be a great gym bag, for those of us who must have a cute bag everywhere.

Almost everything Tory Burch has come out with this season has impressed me. I love the way she uses bright colors, vivid prints, and quality materials. Her handbags range from the $100's to the $600's, and she has a style for everyone. This tote is one of my favorites, it's the 'Tory Mini', and it comes in other colors and prints as well. I like the metallic leather trim contrasted with the neutral fall colors. $225

This is a great Tory Burch tote. I love the three choices and the colors she choose to go together.

This would be a great casual handbag, gym bag or diaper bag. (I don't like traditional diaper bags, they are quite awkward.)
