I love handbags

Category: Administrator @ 06:18

I love handbags. I just do. My first handbag was a bright red Liz Claiborne. It was shaped like a half moon and had a long brown strap. I was 8 years old and Liz Claiborne was an
"in" label in those days. Six years later came my first and great love, a Gucci. It was a round handbag with the tan GG print and brown leather piping. It also had the green and red
ribbon detail that gucci used for so many years. I lost that handbag and it was many years later that I was able to carry a beloved Gucci of my own again. My mother stopped buying
me expensive purses, relatively speaking.  She switched to Coach... outlet Coach. Now I know Coach is a very good label, even the outlet store, but I had already had a brand
new, that season, GUCCI. That kind of downgrade is very difficult. But the experience began my career as a handbag conoisseur.

In the great sea of handbag designers, from Burberry To Yves Saint Laurent, what you pay for is not always what you get. I have spent countless dollars on purses that get broken
straps early on, unravelled stitching, or exposed innards. Some purse designers sew leather around a cord like thing for the strap and then put another piece of leather around the part
where the strap and purse join. The leather can move from the strap- purse junction and expose that hideous cord, the innards. I had that happen with a seemingly cute, orange leather
$400 plus Francisco Biasia. I don't like my handbags to have innards - at all. Most high end labels don't, unless it's a fake.

So what makes a fabulous handbag? Quality, function, look and value. Dooney and Bourke make the cutest little colorful logo bags for the trendy tween.

Tween, not teen. Coach is better suited for a teen. But Dand B scores high in all categories, so it's usually a fabulous handbag for the value.

So is the Chanel, chain -strap, flap bag.

The design hasn't changed in decades, thus it's timeless and absolutely worth the price.

Two handbags at very different price points, but both are fabulous handbags.

Here we will examine and discuss anything and everything about handbags, especially fabulous new upcoming handbags and the not so fabulous.
