Some people think high end, seasonal handbags are a waste of money, because you only carry them half of the year. I whole-heartedly disagree. This CC Skye wristlet clutch is so chic I can’t stand it. It takes alot to get me to say “that’s different”, when it comes to handbag design, but I’m saying it now. Sure, I’ve seen a bracelet/ ring combo, and we’re all familiar with the McQueen knuckle duster ring/ handbag combo, but I think this design is something new. Even if it has been done, it’s new to me.

Who says you can’t be highbrow and badass at the same time? No one does ladylike-meets-badass better than Alexander McQueen. The skull clutch has been on the scene for a few years now, but Sarah Burton continues to reinvent the design and make it new again, each time juxtaposing the contrasting elements.

This spring/summer 2012 clutch is called the Skull Jaw clutch because the jaw moves, and when the mouth “opens” the crystal teeth are revealed. The crystal embellished skull has practically become synonymous with the Alexander McQueen brand, but sometimes the skull is the focal point of the bag and sometimes the skull is more discreet like on this tote. Either way, I love it. Another thing I love is a big, structured tote. Big, because I carry a lot of stuff and I like the look of a big bag for daytime, and structured because it keeps my valuable safes from falling out (floppy totes are too vulnerable).
